After… (2019)
"After..." explores my Taiwanese/American identity through watercolor drawings and photo collages. Each drawing is the re-envision of famous American, Chinese and Taiwanese artists' works. Referenced artists include American illustrators Norman Rockwell and Stevan Dohanos, Taiwanese artist Chen Jin, and Chinese artists Wang Hongli and Xiang Weiren. By reconstructing their works through the Taiwanese/Asian lens, "After..." creates a third space for my in-between identity.
